About Recharge Integration
Bring gifting to subscriptions with Recharge. Let customers send a subscription or a one-off product as a gift, complete with a branded Giftnote message and reveal.
Gift recipients captured along the way are new prospects for future subscription and retention offers.
How to Get Started
Connect Recharge to Giftnote in just a few steps
Turn on Giftnote's outbound webhooks
Giftnote's API lets you subscribe to gift, message and delivery events (e.g. Order Message created, Gift Card created, Store Credit issued) and fire your own flows the moment they occur, or sync them to an external system in real time. This is the Giftnote-side building block for a custom bridge to Recharge — there is no pre-built Recharge connector.
Turn on Recharge's webhooks for the events you need
Recharge exposes webhooks such as subscription/created and order/created that fire when a subscription or subscription order is created, with payloads matching its REST API. Use these as the Recharge-side trigger for your custom bridge.
Build and secure a custom relay between the two
Because neither app publishes a first-party Recharge<->Giftnote connector, a developer must write a small middleware service that receives each platform's webhook, verifies it, and calls the other platform's REST API to take the corresponding action (e.g. mirroring a Recharge subscription event into a Giftnote gift/message record, or vice versa). Recharge webhook calls must be acknowledged with a 200 OK and can be verified via the X-Recharge-Hmac-Sha256 header.
