About this gift
Baumans Cider's Mountain Rose is a single-varietal cider made with Oregon's own redfleshed apple variety: The Airlie Red (a.k.a. Mountain Rose). This red-fleshed apple was discovered and cultivated near Corvallis, Oregon. It is known by many names and used by many of the best cider-makers in the Pacific Northwest. Bauman's collects their allotment of Airlie Red from their native orchard at Rainshine Farm.
Each year/vintage Baumans releases this cider it's one of our absolute favorite Red-Flesh offerings, and routinely an award winning cider.
The latest vintage is gorgeous both in it's color and overall flavor profile. It drinks off-dry to semi-dry with medium-plus acid and medium-minus tannins. The mouthwatering acidity supports a red fruit flavor profile including notes of cranberry, strawberry, and raspberry. Fresh apple juice and a dash of lemon carry the mid-palate and finish.
A truly gorgeous cider.
