Antinori Tignanello 2022 is a profound expression of one of Italy's most iconic "Super Tuscan" wines. It is a true milestone, celebrated as the first Sangiovese to be aged in small oak barrels and the first modern red in Chianti Classico to blend with Cabernet.

This wine comes exclusively from the Tenuta Tignanello estate's prized single vineyard, a 190-acre parcel with limestone-rich soils. The 2022 vintage was hot and dry, but perfectly timed mid-August rains and cooler nights created an ideal ripening phase, resulting in fruit of outstanding quality.

Crafted from Sangiovese with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the wine was fermented in conical tanks for supple, elegant tannins. It then aged just over 13 months in predominantly new French and Hungarian oak barrels, followed by 12 months in bottle.

This vintage is intensely ruby-red. It opens with impressive aromas of cherry, pomegranate, and violets, leading to balsamic hints, vanilla, and cotton candy. The palate is dynamic and fresh, with supple, savory tannins and a lengthy, aromatic finish.
